Elm Street Labs
Watertown, MA
125,000 sf

Prior to the pandemic, the need for life sciences lab space was growing. KSID teamed up with The Triad Group and Consigli Construction to design a 125,000 SF lab and research building in Watertown. The three-story building over a partially-exposed garage is conveniently located across from Arsenal Yards. The combination of ribbon and punched windows and change in materials gives the building depth and character. The Moz metal screens flanking the front entrance and brise soleil above the ribbon windows further enhance the character. The main lobby millwork panels with integrated technology and serpentine lighting lead you back to the bike room, bathrooms, showers elevators, and first floor labs. The roof deck has a view of Boston and will be the perfect lunch spot on warmer days. There are solar panels covering 11,500 SF of the roof.
This project was designed for LEED Gold certification.
