Flip over your shoe and you may find the unmistakable, yellow octagon identifying Vibram rubber soles. Vibram, an eighty year old company, launched their presence in Boston with an eye-catching and lively design of their Commonwealth Avenue retail and office location. The existing, tattered space was transformed into a bright and open retail space and innovation lab with mezzanine offices and meeting areas for the sales, marketing and innovation teams.
The project required the transformation of a 1950’s automobile dealership design-build involving both building code and structural upgrades. The retail space allows customers to try on and test Vibram shoes in simulated weather conditions.
